our wedding day 09.27.14

I’ve been anxiously waiting to share this blog entry with my family, friends, clients, and followers.

Summing up our wedding day is simply impossible to do and I know that even the words I am typing at this moment will not do it justice. It was our dream come true. It was everything we imagined and more. The rush of having our closest family members and our best friends in one location at the same time was overwhelming, emotional, and surreal. those same family and friends who watched us grow over the course of eight years, who provided us advice when we needed it, and who supported us with all their hearts day after day. They believed in us, traveled from all over the country just to witness our love that day and that in itself was so powerful and moving that it gives me chills all over again.

Planning a wedding was not easy, they were right about that! But it was worth all the late nights and stress that’s for sure. When we saw all the intricate details come together we were blown away. We express our sincerest gratitude to those who made it all possible and who made our day truly remarkable. Lucky for us we have some very talented cherished friends who contributed to our wedding. That in itself was so meaningful to us and we thank them for their contributions:

-Liz Banks, who made our incredibly beautiful wedding cake, you really outdid yourself missy.  Brian isn’t even a big sweets guy but I caught him sneaking a slice of it during the wedding!

-Meredith McCreight, who designed our save the dates and invitations, we can’t thank you enough for setting the tone for our wedding day. the invitations mirrored  our sense of  humor and people are still talking about them to this day!

-To our wedding planner and good friend, Heather Hajes, you were sensational. Everything ran smoothly, you didn’t miss a beat, and you were flawless in executing our day perfectly. We are forever thankful to you for taking our vision and turning it into something so beautiful.

-To Natasha Norris, who spent hours working on our decorations and our chalkboards. thank you thank you for the help leading up to the big day!

-Brother’s Brewery, co-owned by the best man himself, brewed up a batch of beer specifically for us on our wedding day and made enough for all the guests at our wedding to try. I hope you all got to try their beer at the wedding. .. my favorite was the “no longer LIGHT wheat beer” but I could be slightly biased. Thank you Tom & Joe!

-A big thanks to Uncle Chris & Angelo from Grapes, Labor, Time +Love who stocked up the bar with some homemade wine. We thank you for your generosity!

-To our go pro and drone videographers/our dear friends and stepdad (John Bullock, Jessie Johnson & Brian Shipp) – we LOVE the awesome footage of our wedding night! The raw footage in itself is everything we wanted. These will be the videos we watch twenty, thirty, forty years from now and we’ll laugh just as hard as we did when we first watched the footage.

- To our awesome bridal party who helped us all year long as we prepared for our big day, we consider ourselves the luckiest people in the world to have friends/siblings like you. we couldn't have done it without each and everyone of you.

-To our family and friends who traveled great distances to be with us that day, to those who came a few days early to help set up/prepare for the big day, to those who helped clean up and gathered up all our things at the end of the night, to those who baked our favorite homemade desserts to share with our guests. . . we thank you and our belly's thank you too.

-To our parents . . . words can’t even begin to express our love and gratitude for everything you all did for us that day. from the bottom of our hearts we thank you for giving us a day that we will always remember and cherish.

-And a BIG thanks to Erin Lassahn Photography for capturing hundreds of hundreds of beautiful images that allowed us to relive our day while we were all snuggled up on the couch eating popcorn with our Lucy pup. We hit play on the slideshow and let the photos roll, and the beauty of it all came rushing back and we got to reflect on how absolutely perfect our wedding day was.
